Jim MadiI nominate him because he is seeking to find an accounting internship, his first “professional” job out of college. He has great grades, good extracurricular activities and a willing spirit, but needs a summer job!

  • Ivette Cortes

I nominate Shane Hernandez because he was just let go from his job. He is the sole income in a house of five including a special needs child. It is important that he have all of the tools available to find a new job. I know that he will put these things to great use.Thank you.

I would like to nominate Margo Theine for this kit.  As an adoptee who struggled to find her birth-family, Margo was reunited with them and moved to Korea to study the language, culture, and reconnect with her long-lost relatives.  While there, she found that she could not find employment other than teaching English as a Second Language.  Despite extremely disliking this line of work, Margo stuck with it in order to reach her dream of developing a relationship with her birth-parents and younger siblings.  Now back in the US, she finds herself much like a recent college graduate—with little work experience, no professional connections, and in desperate need of guidance while starting out in a new career field.  I believe Margo deserves to win this amazing package because she is an excellent example of someone who could have given up despite dire personal circumstances, and yet persevered.  She is exactly the type of person who could benefit from this opportunity to find fulfilling work that she truly enjoys—she just needs some help with where to start as an entry-level worker.  Thank you for hosting this contest; it’s a welcome surprise during this holiday season.

  • Pam Turner

I would like to nominate Megan Turner to receive the entry-level Job Seeker Starter Kit. She worked an average of thirty hours per week while in undergraduate school and part of graduate school then began a full-time internship while she finished graduate school. This month she will receive her Master’s degree. She has a strong work ethic and is devoted in her search for the right job!

Amanda Egut.  Amanda is by far the most driven job-seeker I have met. Not only has she had five internships, in which she more than excelled, but she continues to search daily – perhaps fanatically – for a job.  As a Cleveland-area public relations and political science soon-to-be-graduate, she’s up against a tremendous amount of competition for a small amount of openings.  Still, despite the lack of entry-level jobs in this field and area, Amanda manages to pull lead after lead seemingly out of the air.  And after all of her hard work – her searching and networking – she shares her job findings with her friends and classmates, encouraging them to apply as well.  For a person with a heart as great as their drive and motivation, Amanda is more than deserving of the Entry-Level Job Seeking Starter Kit.  So, to conclude, I would like to nominate Amanda Egut for this contest.  She would benefit from these guides and tools, and she would share them with others seeking entry-level work, increasing the value of this prize ten-fold.

I would like to nominate A’Kili Green, as he will be graduating high school this year. I believe he would benefit tremendously of all of the materials in the Entry-Level Job Seeking Starter Kit.
He his such a hard working young man, he has worked since he was 16 at a local grocery store, maintained a 3.2 G.P.A., been an active participant of his church. His single mother of three, is currently unemployed, so he gladly compensates the household income when necessary with pride, no regrets.
I know he would greatly appreciate a jump start on his  career journey, as he continues to decide what college and major to go into. This kit will forever positively impact his life and future to becoming a better young man for his family, employer and society other than a statistic of a young African-American male. I also believe he would share the knowledge he learned through these materials with his friends and classmates to enable them a jump-start on the rest of their lives too.

  • Tabatha Miller

I am nominating Brenda Turner for the job seekers kit.  Brenda is an instructor at a welfare to work program in Flint Mi, one of the areas hardest hit by the recession.  We have one of the highest unemployment rates in the nation.  It is Brenda’s job to assist clients in their pursuit for employment.  Most of these clients have a G.E.D at best, and she must coach them in the most basic of interviewing skills.  She is left with the task of helping clients develop their resumes, and teaching them how to network.  She guides them on this difficult journey of finding employment with little credentials and work experience.  Brenda’s job is the most thankless job in the company.  Even though she has been the one to shape these clients from day one in the program, rarely is her hard work recognized.  I know that with this job-seeker starter kit she would be able to help more than just one person in their pursuit to finding employment.

I would like to nominate my fiance -Aditya, who has been struggling for the past 1 year in this harsh job market. His accomplishments are as good as anybody’s and his story is similar to thousands of people -young and old-out there.Hence,I refrain from going into the specifics because it would be the same underlying theme as articulated by many readers of this blog. Thus, I feel everyone is equally deserving for the kit.Personally, I would like to see my fiance receive it but then I would be equally happy if anyone else receives it too. After all, a fellow human would be getting a new lease of life. That’s all matters.

  • Michelle Lew

I would like to nominate Katie Rowland for the Entry-Level Job Seeker Kit. Katie is a senior graduating from San Diego State in May. She is currently interning at Nuffer, Smith, Tucker and has tremendous potential. She is creative and effective in her work. As a peer, she is someone that I look up to and go to when I have questions. Katie would benefit from this starter kit because she is always reading and re-tweeting interesting articles and quotes she finds.

  • Jonathan Moyet

I would like to nominate my wife Roberta Moyet to receive the job starter kit.  She graduated in 2008 with her bachelors.  As a returning veteran on the war of global terrorism, she continued her education in Interdisciplinary Studies in Individual and Society.  She was an avid volunteer and activist in Utica, NY.  We recently moved to Miami, so she can study not for profit business.  However, due to bureaucracy her file for Veteran Vocational Rehabilitation  had delayed her entry.  She is a survivor of military sexual trauma, and contends with her disability PTSD with a spirit that amazed me when I met her at the VA.  She wants to eventually become a social entrepreneur.
