That sounds like a really good opportunity. Students learn so much more from practitioners and actual work than in uni. Thanks again for posting my pitch–I really appreciate it. I have already started to spread the word about HAPPO to my fellow PRSSA members and PR classmates at our School of Journalism. I agree that #HAPPO is a wonderful idea and resource. It ties in nicely with the thought that “social media is a medium, NOT a strategy.”

Thank you very much for mentioning me on your blog. To add a bit to my post (since that was the 140 character version) I’ve worked in the often misunderstood realm of sports information. While we are the people that can make or break an athletic department, we are often looked at as the “stat guy” or the “website guy.” As an SID it is my responsibility to not only maintain the stats and the website, but to also act as the point person for marketing efforts as well as all public relations efforts. It is my duty to contact local media outlets to promote our department and to answer all media inquiries.

I think this #HAPPO thing is a great idea and shows the relevance of social media as not only a marketing tool, but as a networking tool. If you want to find a job anywhere in the country, make sure you follow all of the people who are making #HAPPO great!

Wow Heather I didn’t know #PRintern | #EntryPR was originally a website. I love receiving my daily emails with great information. This whole HAPPO thing is such a great idea. Nearing graduation, the whole project will definitely be one to continue yearly I’m sure. The community I know an interact with on Twitter (including yourself) has really helped me grow as a PR student. Over the past few months I’ve learned so much and would probably be so lost without each person I’ve come in contact with. I actually started writing a post in my blog about HAPPO and hope to finish it before next week. See you in a few weeks!!!
